Johannes Döring works as a sculptor using photographic techniques. The starting point for his work is the relationship between positive and negative, which he explores in spatial and material terms. By combining analogue photography with plaster reliefs, he creates works that oscillate between image, object and trace, raising questions about memory, representation and museum presentation.
His investigative focus centres on fragmentary artefacts, the conditions of cultural production, and representation in private, institutional and cinematic spaces.
